If you or your dog are new to Northwest Obedience Club, please complete the New Dog checklist.
Obedience
Level: Puppy
Puppy Class is designed for puppies 6 months and younger and focuses on helping them become confident, well-adjusted, and eager learners. This class is non-formal, developmentally appropriate, and centered on positive reinforcement, trust-building, and early socialization.
Your puppy will begin learning the foundational skills needed to successfully move into the Beginner Class after graduation.
Core Skills:
- Leash handling
- Heeling
- Sit
- Down
- Stay
- Front and finish (around and swing)
- Stand
- Life saving recall
Additional skills:
- Introduction to stimuli to help build confidence
- Tunnel
- Ladder
- Cones with weaving
- Obstacle agility course
- Impulse control
- Marker words and release words
AKC Star Puppy Test will be administered on the last week.
Puppy Eligibility Requirements
Age: 6 months old or younger.
Vaccinations: Two distemper (DHPP) vaccinations appropriate for their age.
Records: An official vaccination record must be provided and must be issued directly by your veterinarian. Owner-written dates or handwritten cards are not accepted. Your veterinarian can provide a printed record upon request.
Puppy Evaluation Requirements
All puppies younger than 6 months are placed directly into Puppy Class and do not need an evaluation to enroll. Evaluations are required only for older dogs entering the training program or for placement beyond the Beginner Class after graduation.
General Session Fees:
- Non-members: $150
- Member: $85
- Members with 2 Service Credits: $60

Vaccinations
Obtain a copy of your most recent vaccination record from your veterinarian.
Submit by Mail
Submit completed paperwork via US mail, or in person. We accept checks or cash.

Ready to Register?
Current students/members adding a new to NOCI dog are registered by the Training Hall Secretary. Owners must first submit an application with a copy of their veterinary vaccine records and payment to the Training Hall Secretary.
